They started releasing their Single Malts in\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e 2008\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e. Most of their Spirits are aged in new, Swedish oak placed 50 meters underground in an \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eabandoned mineshaft.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\r\n\u003cbr\u003e\r\nIf you listened to hard rock music in the 1970s and 1980s you already know the band \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe Scorpions\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e. They are one of the \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003emost influential bands\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e in the genre and have a\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e long string of hits\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e. \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eMackmyra Scorpions Single Malt Whisky\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e is a collaboration between the band and the Mackmyra Distillery. The base Spirits is aged in a combination of ex-Bourbon and Oloroso Sherry casks. In 2010, no less than Jim Murray called Amrut Single Malt the \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e“Third Finest Whisky in the World.”\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e John Hansell of The Whiskey Advocate has raved as well, and we think that you’ll love it too.\u003cbr\u003e\r\n\u003cbr\u003e\r\nCan you imagine a peated Single Malt from India? You do not have to imagine,\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e you can drink it\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e.\u003cbr\u003e\r\n\u003cbr\u003e\r\n\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eAmrut Peated Malt Cask Strength\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e is their signature Single Malt Spirit made from lightly peated grain. The Phenol ppm is about \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e23\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e — which is close to a Bowmore in smokiness. The really \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eunique thing\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e is that the warm, humid climate in Bangalore has let this Whisky blossom with notes of exotic fruit. And by “cask strength” they mean a rip-roaring 62.8% ABV.
