The first bottle of the new flagship brand \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e“Makers Mark”\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e was bottled in \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e1958\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e and dipped into the red sealing wax that has become the company’s trademark — making them \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eone of the first \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003eto carve out a space in what we now call the \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e“premium Bourbon” market\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e. Currently owned by Beam-Suntory, members of the Samuels family\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e still work at the company\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e.\u003cbr\u003e\r\n\u003cbr\u003e\r\n\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eMaker's Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e is THE signature Whisky of Maker’s Mark. And while the oh-so-trendy crowd dabbles in spice-bombs, this dram is designed to be smooth. And that starts with a wheated mash bill (no rye) using soft red winter wheat.
